PLACE OF COMMUNITY IMPORTANCE (SCI) OF LAS DUNAS DEL PUNTAL AND OPENING OF THE RIO MIERA
This area of more than 675 hectares (of which 417 Ha correspond to water masses) and which is distributed between the municipalities of Ribamontán al Monte and Marina de Cudeyo has a total of 49 plant formations (of which 20 are priority and of community interest) and is home to 9 populations of fauna of special interest.
GREEN BAY RING
This initiative of the Nature and Man Foundation also serves as a guide to highlight other green areas that, even though they belong to urban areas, in some cases have a relevant ecological value and that deserve their conservation and monitoring.
There are specifically ten natural reserves such as the Peñas Negras holm oak grove, the Pozón de la Dolores, the Engoa Marshes, etc.
