NAVIGATIO ASSOCIATION

LOGO NAVIGATIO SANTANDER 5X5 CM (4) (3).tif

1. Who we are:

The AENavigatio was born from the impulse of a group of professionals and businessmen united by our passion for the sea and traditional navigation. Hence, the main common thread of many of our actions is the TRAINERA, the native boat par excellence of the Cantabrian Coast.

In this framework of action, the preservation and sustainability of the marine wealth of our environment plays a fundamental role for our association, in particular of the Bay of Santander as it is our main framework of action.

"Contribute to promoting and enhancing the local heritage of Cantabria from a historical, cultural and natural point of view, with special emphasis on the maritime side"

2. Vision and Mission:

3.     Values:

PARTICIPATION and INTEGRATION that is transferred to sociocultural and sports projects based on the historical, cultural and natural wealth of our community. For this, we work with people in groups, with systematics for teams, motivating and promoting the well-being and personal growth of the participants. In addition, all our actions are marked by environmental sustainability criteria.

Four.   Trajectory:

Our current capacities are the sum of the efforts and experiences carried out by our promoters even before the legal formalization of the association in the field that finally constitutes its mission,  and can be summarized in outings for amateurs in drifting, teamwork courses for companies and universities, programs for the psycho-physical recovery of groups with special needs, participation in festivals and national and international regattas, etc ...

5.   Areas of activity.

Currently the association is structured in three different areas of activity:

5.1. Boga y Vela Navigatio: Sports club based in the Marina de Pedreña marina dedicated to collective sailing in traditional boats (trawlers, boats, etc.).  Our main current projects are: Mar de Júbilo (national projection) and the Triple Tournament (international projection) with twinning of the Ocean to City regattas in Cork,  Navigatio de Santander and  Great RiverRace, London.

5.2 La Almotacenía: Commercial organization aimed at promoting the local products of Cantabria and its places of production.

5.3. Citizenship and Ocean: Laboratory of projects that can be included in the proposals of the European Union (Erasmus, Operational Groups, Maritime Forum). We are currently developing this project for the protection and conservation of the Bay environment through a coastal code, as well as other projects for the use of the Cantabrian sea fennel (Crithmum maritimum) or the preparation of an Erasmus + project.
